Drive by viewing: The Valley of the Temples, Agrigento

We didn't stop and visit the temples this time. But the view from the road is enough to amaze and impress. A long ridge dotted with the ancient remains of the Greek people who once dominated this island. Striking in their incredible state of preservation. The glow of the golden stones rising up to the sky. Beckoning all who gaze their eyes on them to come closer, take a look, spend some time wandering in their shadows, taking it all in. This, for me, is Sicily in its greatest splendor.

  1. Wonderful shots, Karen! How cooperative the sky & clouds were too! I know just what road you were on and it's always fun to look up in awe, even when you can't stop.
